People, who catch cold, can recover quicker, and in some cases even prevent catching cold in the first place, as long as they help their bodies to improve it’s immune system. There are some well-known ways to improve your self-defense system and there are some surprising ways that are less obvious to us. For example, when you inhale a cold virus, it inflames your nasal passages. The inflammation process causes the body to release chemicals, which include histamine. When you have a weak immune system, you are at a higher risk of catching a cold or a virus. Your immune system is responsible for helping you fight off infections; therefore, when your immune system is weak it cannot function properly.

Sleep apnea can have severe effects on your health and has been linked to such problems as heart failure, stroke, high blood pressure and diabetes. Obstructive sleep apnea involves repeated pauses in breathing that occur when the muscles relax during sleep, causing soft tissue in the back of the throat to collapse and block the upper airway. A number of clinical trials have shown regular exercise to be strongly linked to heightened immunity, with the emphasis on regular.

If you stay inactive, this body temperature pattern will lead to poor sleep, which will prevent you from sleeping deeply. Approaching stress management from a wellness lifestyle approach can give you “money in the bank” when it comes to preventing stress, it can give you the energy you need to handle stress when it happens. The following components are part of a wellness lifestyle approach. The authors suggested that restoring sleep is an important preventative measure and critical component of medical therapy. These findings are underlined by a number of studies, the latest reported in the previous volume of the Sleep Bulletin, demonstrating that adequate sleep is associated with a decreased mortality risk in the general population.

They’re not gaining anything, but are losing a huge amount of their health, you can see it in their social interactions, their ability to learn and think clearly. Sleep is one of the keys to a successful diet and a healthy lifestyle. Other public health hazards, such as poor nutrition, smoking, excess alcohol and lack of exercise is the subject of endless research. On the contrary, little research has been done on the subject of sleep.

- Stage 1 is light sleep. You’ve probably experienced this during boring classes in school. Your body is barely asleep, your eyes move slightly, and you’re easily awakened, usually with a startled “jump.” During this stage, you’ll often have dream-like visuals.
- Stage 2 is when the eye movements stop and your brain waves begin to slow down.
- Stage 3 begins deep sleep, as very slow brain waves, called delta waves, take over the more rapid brain waves, called sleep spindles.
- Stage 4 is a deep state where all muscle movements stop. It’s hard to be awakened during this state, and when you are, you’re often in a groggy, disoriented condition.
- Stage 5 is called REM (rapid eye movement) sleep. In this stage, your breathing becomes shallow, your heart rate and blood pressure increase, your eyes jerk rapidly in all directions, and you have your wildest dreams.
- We sleep in cycles wherein all five stages are completed in around one-and-a-half to two hours. As the cycles increase, we spend less time in deep sleep and more in stages 1, 2, and REM.

Stage three and four, deep sleep, being the health sleep where the brain and heart slow to a resting phase and this stage takes up 50% of sleeping time. Dreaming takes place during stage five with waking off and on. Millions of people suffer with some form of insomnia, resulting in fatigue, lack of mental alertness, and weakened physical and mental health. It also contributes to both minor and major injury accidents.

Physically active people catch fewer colds and other upper respiratory infections, but more exercise isn’t always better. Therefore that makes us vulnerable to diseases from colds to cancer, flu to heart disease. Some studies found that taking vitamin C (about 600 milligrams/day) for three weeks before an ultra marathon reduced post race cold symptoms, yet others have found that vitamin C supplementation made no difference. Getting frequent colds can be a sign of over training or overtaxing your body. Cold and flu viruses are spread by airborne particles, so when you cough, sneeze into your sleeve or a tissue instead of your hands, if possible. When this happens, you can expect to feel weak and run down. To be susceptible to colds and the flu and more likely to be affected by disease, when your immune system is not functioning well, germs can easily penetrate the body and wreak havoc on your organs.

Many natural ways are available in order to boost your immune system. Some of the important tips to boost your immune system are given here. Immune-boosting foods include organically grown fruits and vegetables, wholegrain, beans and other legumes, natural oils such as expelled-pressed olive oil, hemp oil, walnut oil, flax oil and coconut butter. Brazil nuts, a rich source of selenium, are particularly good for the immune system. First, the immune system manufactures antibodies, which identify and fend off invaders. Also, your immune system has a built-in memory, it remembers how it defended your body against those past invaders, and it stands ready to do it again. Adequate restful sleep helps to restore our bodies and refresh our minds. During deep sleep, our bodies release potent immune-enhancing substances that strengthen immune function.

Everyone needs to work at resetting your body clock naturally.

On average, college students today are going to bed 1-2 hours later and sleeping 1-1.6 hours less than they did a generation ago. As a result, sleep complaints and depression have increased dramatically among college students and doctors have discovered that sleeping for nine or more hours a night is not necessarily beneficial, either.

————————

Another fine article by Chuck Arnone in regards to our day to day health and your immune system.

Learning is one of the biggest stumbling blocks we have with eating and diabetes.

By learning when you should eat, how much you need to eat and what to eat, you can take excellent care of yourself. When making food choices, choose wisely so that you can lose unnecessary weight, lower you risk of diabetes complications and even feel good from day to day.

Our goal with diabetes is to keep our blood glucose levels at healthy levels and to prevent damage to our body caused by those unhealthy levels of glucose, cholesterol and blood pressures. This can be maintained with good eating and physical activity habits along with proper medications if prescribed by your health care professional.

When taking diabetes medications, it is best to follow schedules for physical activity, meals and snacks. Some medications allow for flexible schedules while others do not. Discuss your diet and medication routines with your doctor.

The risk of developing heart disease is two times that in people who have diabetes than in people who do not. High cholesterol levels raise that risk. Lowering the amounts of saturated fats and cholesterol and maintaining optimal body weight can help lower cholesterol levels in the blood and reduce your risk of heart disease. Eating and Diabetes definitely go hand in hand here.

With you doctors help and with monitoring results:

Determine how many times you need to eat per day

Determine how many snacks you can eat per day

Determine your physical activity levels required to maintain

Remember that conditions can change as time goes by, never stop monitoring and never stop working with your health care professionals. Keep up with your diet and diabetes plans and follow them with care.

It is your life and you should make it as comfortable and as productive as you can. You can always take medications, but there is no substitute for self care.

Your own diet and snacking is every bit as important as your child's. Keep in mind that you are setting an example for healthy, or unhealthy, eating. The benefits of healthy eating and snacking far outweigh the convenience of the local drive thru. You'll feel more energetic, see improvements in your hair and skin, and get to that healthy weight you desire. So snack away, but do it wisely!

As parents, we spend a lot of time thinking about the quality of snacks that go into our children’s mouths. But what about you? Are you snacking in a healthy manner, forgetting to eat at all, or just grabbing whatever you can get your hands on when you suddenly decide you are famished? Quick trips through the drive thru or grabbing a candy bar at the gas station limit the nutrition we are getting during the day, set unhealthy examples for our children, and can sap the energy we need to keep up with them.

Here are some quick and healthy snack ideas that can be prepared ahead of time and stashed in your purse, diaper bag, or car for a satisfying snack that you can feel good about eating. You might not even mind sharing them with your children!

Cereal - Snack-sized baggies make carrying your favorite cereal a snap. Look for high fiber cereals that stave off hunger longer and cereals fortified with essential nutrients to make sure you are getting your daily allotment of the good stuff. Toss in some nuts or dried fruit for extra flavor and more nutritional value. One of my personal favorites: Heartland Granola Cereal with some added dry fruit. A snack sized 1/4 cup of cereal is just 120 calories, 3 grams of fat, 2 grams of fiber and 3 grams protein. The added fruit gives me that sweet taste I want while keeping it healthy.

Rice Crisps - If you’re a chip lover, this might be the answer for you. This crunchy, yummy snack allows you to “get your crunch on” without the guilt of downing other greasier varieties of snack. One of my personal favorites: Aldi’s “Fit and Active” brand Rice snacks are just 60 calories a serving, zero fat, and 1 gram protein to help fight off hunger. Plus, the kids love them, as well!

Yogurt Smoothies - Yo plait Light and Dannon Light & Fit both offer delicious smoothies for less then 100 calories and zero fat. You also get the crucial calcium and protein your body needs. Although they need refrigeration, they are perfect for a quick “grab and go” breakfast or afternoon snack.

Edamame - These baby soybeans are a wonderful quick and satisfying snack. High in fiber, protein and omega-3 fatty acids, snacking on edamame will keep you cheery and stave off mid-day hunger. You can also purchase edamame in kid-friendly pouches (such as Sponge Bob and Dora the Explorer), which may just encourage your picky eater to try something new.

100-Calorie Chocolate - If you’ve got a chocolate craving, it’s usually best to feed it before it gets out of hand. With all the 100-calorie snack options out there, it’s a lot easier to find a suitable option that won’t ruin your diet. Personal favorites include: CocoaVia’s 80- to 150-calorie chocolate bars, Hershey’s 100-calorie chocolate bars, or a couple Dove Promises dark chocolates.

String Cheese or Low Fat Cheese Snacks - String cheese is a fun-to-peel snack that is easy to take on the go. A part-skim milk cheese stick is just 50- to 70-calories and just 4-5 grams of fat, along with calcium and hunger satisfying protein. Add some whole grain crackers for a well balanced and filling snack. Personal favorite: The Laughing Cow Light Original Swiss (35 calories, 2 grams fat, 2.5 grams protein) on Wasa Light Rye Crispbread crackers (60 calories, zero fat, 3 grams fiber, 2 grams protein) is just 2 points on Weight Watchers.

Fruit - Sturdy fruits like apples, pears and oranges are easy to toss in your bag for a quick snack later. At 100 calories or less, these fiber-rich snacks will keep your energy up and your hunger at bay. For quick snacks at home, try some of the new string of fruits hitting your produce section. My personal favorite: The new pluots (a cross between a plum and an apricot) or mango nectarines (makes a mango a simple to eat snack). These options bruise easier, so aren’t as bag friendly, but can really satisfy your sweet tooth while giving you essential vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.

Whole-Grain Snack Bars - Snack bars are a wonderful option when you are too busy to think. But take a little time to look at the nutritional information before you bring them home! Some are loaded with more fat, calories and sugar than you might expect. Personal favorite: I love the Kashi TLC Chewy Granola Bars. My choice of Honey Almond Flax bars offer whole roasted almonds, flax seeds and a touch of wildflower honey with 4 grams of fiber, 7 grams of protein and 300 mg Omega-3 fatty acids.

Almonds and Walnuts - Get out those great little snack bags again and pre-pack snack sized portions of your favorite nuts! Almonds are rich in healthy fats, along with potassium and magnesium, phosphorus and calcium. Walnuts are rich in essential Omega-3 fatty acids. Watch your serving sizes, and steer clear of “roasted” or “salted” varieties, which can pack in the calories.

Instant Oatmeal - Got a plastic cup and some hot water? Then you can make oatmeal! For just 100- to 160-calories per serving, oatmeal is a top source of heart-healthy whole grains that will keep you from feeling hunger pangs. Personal fav? Trader Joe’s Clover Honey Instant Oatmeal is just 60-calories with zero fat. I like to toss in a few almonds for a bit of extra crunch.

Dried Fruits and Veggies - Although a lot of dried fruits and veggies pack in extra sugar, salt, or preservatives that you don’t want in your diet, Just Tomatoes and Bare Fruit brands take a more wholesome route. Both companies use special processes to dry fruits and vegetables without removing the nutritional values, leaving you with fiber, vitamins and minerals and none of the bad stuff. You can find fruits like bananas, mangoes, pomegranates, cherries and pineapple and veggies like peppers, carrots, tomatoes, corn and peas ready to travel and help you get to your recommended 5-9 daily servings.

Microwave Popcorn - Low fat microwave popcorn is a great snack. Stock up on individual 100-calorie bags, or brands that are low in fat and added salt. You get healthy whole grains in a low-cal snack that’s yummy and easy to tote. Although against the rules, I often sneak in my own low fat popcorn into the movies! It helps keep me away from the tasty, but oh-so-bad-for-you movie variety.

Fresh Vegetables - Keep a variety of cut up and ready to eat fresh veggies in your fridge. I always have carrots, snap peas, broccoli and cauliflower on hand and ready for a quick snack. Prepared in advance, it can steer you away from less healthy options you might find at hand. You can always buy prepackaged servings of veggies in your market’s produce department. These make quick and healthy “grab and go” snacks.

Your own diet and snacking is every bit as important as your child’s. Keep in mind that you are setting an example for healthy, or unhealthy, eating. The benefits of healthy eating and snacking far outweigh the convenience of the local drive thru. You’ll feel more energetic, see improvements in your hair and skin, and get to that healthy weight you desire. So snack away, but do it wisely!

by Randy Wood

Diabetics strive daily to live a life of normalcy. For many it is a very difficult and troubled road. For all, diabetes is most definitely a lifestyle altering disease.

There is consistent and ongoing research through doctors, clinics, researchers and special facilities diligently searching for cures to diabetes and ways to control and prevent the disease.

Lifestyle Center of America, a residential health center provides workshops through a revolutionary program that includes a preventive plant based diet, easy to follow physical activity program and other lifestyle choices to help overcome the effects that diabetes and other chronic diseases impose on our lives.

I have had the privilege of reading and actually using their cook book, “The 30-Day Diabetes Miracle Cook Book” created by Bonnie House, Diana Fleming, Ph.D., LDN, Linda Brinegar, Linda Kennedy, and Ian Blake Newman.

The research and work that has gone into this cook book along with its ease of use and information provided makes this book exceptionally valuable to those living with or touched by diabetes.

The 30-Day Diabetes Miracle Cookbook is very easy to follow and use and is loaded with information so that diabetics know what to eat, why to eat it, how to prepare it, how to cook it and so much more.

The menus provided are an excellent guide for your day to day meal plan needs. You can follow the suggested plan or change it up based on your desires and tastes. They have even put together the list of equipment you need in your kitchen to prepare your meals. They have provided complete nutrition details to aid in optimizing your food intake to your needs. They have developed so many delicious and tasteful recipes covering every aspect of our normal eating habits from breakfast, lunch and dinner to deserts. The ingredients used in cooking are explained in detail and are easy for most people to get. And it tastes good!

As most people today are consuming so much fast food and easy to grab meals, living a fast and hurried lifestyle, it’s no wonder we are at the degraded levels of health that we are. Diets and lifestyle changes do not come that easy to most. The 30-Day Diabetes Miracle Cookbook can help make that change in your life much less stressful. All you have to do is choose to do it.

According to new studies, eating a low-fat vegan diet may better help manage type 2 diabetes than traditional diets. A vegan diet is plant-based and consists of vegetables, fruits, grains, and legumes. It avoids animal products, such as meat and dairy. Such diets can also help people suffering from diabetes with their fight against other complications that seem to follow, like weight gain and high cholesterol leading to heart problems.

I recommend “The 30-Day Diabetes Miracle Cookbook” and I am using it. I hope you will do the same for your life.

Before beginning any fitness program, you need to decide what it is you want out of it. Do you want to improve your appearance, your physical skills; build endurance, flexibility or strength; are you trying to lose weight?

Make sure the activities that you pick meet the goals for what you want to get out of it.

Set Yourself up for Success

It’s important not to undermine yourself with goals that are too long-term or impossible to attain.
For example; “I want to lose all my extra weight before summer” is too unrealistic; particularly if you have a great deal of weight to lose and summer is 3 months away.

Too often goals are an end result of whatever program we choose, and not a part of it. You have to make goals an active part of your life by creating goals that lead to the next goal works best.

It is just like the backwards technique. For instance, setting a goal to lose 10 pounds puts the goal at the end without putting too much pressure on you right away. You can add to this goal once it is achieved and so on.

Setting a goal to join an aerobics class and attend it three times a week makes the weight loss goal a part of the program.

You will have set a goal that is achievable almost immediately. This gives you a sense of accomplishment, which is an incentive to setting and achieving the next goal.

Keep a Record

Write your goals down so you have something to look forward to as well as back on. To begin, map out no more than eight weeks of activities towards your first fitness goal. Working within your lifestyle, decide on a regular program. It’s not necessary to work out every day, especially when beginning a new program as your body is not used to the stress. Our bodies become tired if expected to do hard work seven days a week.

Exercising every other day is a safe and realistic goal. Keep track of how much time you want to spend doing an activity, followed by how much time you will actually spend on it. Not everyone is looking at fitness and health to lose weight. Perhaps you are just looking to better your health.

In this case you should think of this; we tend to focus most on the area of our health in our lives, when our health is already failing or less than stellar.

Unfortunately, it may sometimes take a life threatening event, illness or some type of physical rehabilitation to give us a wake up call to make tough changes in our current health habits.

We try to follow through on sound health principles such as enough sleep, a healthy diet and plenty of exercise, yet we may not have the time in our busy schedule or have strong enough will power to implement a balanced and healthy lifestyle.

With the pressures of the fast pace world in which we live, stress can set in and can take its toll. These days we are on the road more often.

What that means is that we are eating on the road as well, which doesn’t always offer us the best or healthiest choices.

We are lucky to get six, maybe seven hours of sleep per night while we now work at least six days per week.

The old saying, “At least I have my health” is finally starting to mean something to a great deal of people. You might be wondering what you can do to improve your health.

The first thing to do is to prioritize what is most important to you in your own individual lifestyle. You can begin by asking yourself these questions:

1. What is my current exercise goal this month or do I even have one?
2. What gets in my way when starting or continuing a balanced health maintenance program?
3. What is my target weight and my plan and timeframe to get there?
4. How can I improve in getting more sleep?
5. What is my ideal overall appearance hopes?
6. Would a personal trainer help me develop and reach my goals more effectively and can I afford one?
7. Of the meals I eat each month, how can I eat healthier, and what can I change in order to eat healthier without getting bored?
8. What books and classes can I take to improve upon my health?
9. Is it time for me to go in for a complete physical and when the last one was that I had
10. How can I reduce or completely eliminate alcohol, chemical dependencies and/or smoking in my body?
11. What ways may I be able to cook in a healthier manner?
12. How can I improve my current heart rate, blood pressure, and cholesterol count?

The fact of the matter is that it doesn’t matter what you fitness/health goals are. If you have read the above sections on setting goals properly, and this section about fitness and health, you are ready to go.

You have to be honest with yourself at all times when it comes to your personal goals. You should also consult a doctor before making any changes to your diet or exercise regimen to ensure that you will not harm yourself. That is all there is to it!

Nutrient deficiencies appear to increase with age. Some colleagues at the University of Iowa looked at over 400 Iowans 79 and older living independently in rural areas and found that 80 percent reported consuming inadequate amounts of four or more nutrients. When declining energy requirements are not matched by decreased caloric intake then total body fat increases. The Atkins diet leaves your body shy on some important nutrients, such as vitamin B, and also is negative for vitamins A, C and D, anti-oxidants that slow the effects of aging and calcium. Once again the lack of exercise has to enter into the equation also.

Nutritional status may be further compromised by other problems in conjunction with the illness, such as trauma, surgery, infection drug therapy which alter nutrient requirements. This makes recovery even more difficult. Another reason we need to keep our immune system healthy and keep an aged body in good health. Elderly individuals should try to strive for a well balanced diet and stay active. Adequate dietary fiber, as opposed to increased use of laxatives, will maintain regular bowel function and not interfere with the digestion and absorption of nutrients, as occurs with laxative use or abuse.

Some of the factors described above, like changes in the digestive system, as well as health concerns like the increased risk of fragile bones, means that nutritional needs change as you age. Periodic review of your diet is always helpful, particularly if you have specific medical conditions. Taste and smell changes, as well as feelings of loneliness and depression, contribute to decreased appetite, while many elderly people may eat less because of chewing difficulties, fatigue, and social reasons. Furthermore, elderly people often have increased nutritional needs because of disease or injury.

Some people who’ve been dieting all their lives find it difficult to change from a low fat diet to richer fare. Indeed, the sudden addition of fat for weight gain isn’t recommended. After studying 300 older adults from the ages of 65 to 93, Garry has concluded that even the process of aging itself may be retarded through behavioral changes. That may precipitate a change in the dietary lifestyle,” he says. It makes strangers of those we knew best, changes relationships with loved ones in ways that resonates forever. “STOLEN MEMORIES” is the story of how one family coped with its devastating effects, and how others can learn from that experience.

Because of this, they are not getting as much of some nutrients as they need. In our newly designed pyramid, we made the base somewhat narrower to reflect the fact that less food is being taken in but chose foods that are nutrient-dense, that is, contain many more nutrients per gram of food eaten. Add foods from the tip of the Pyramid, that contain many calories and few nutrients (like candy, soda pop and potato chips), only in moderation. Moist, easy-to-chew, colorful and flavorful foods may be appropriate for individuals with difficulty chewing or swallowing or with decreased ability to taste or smell. Topics include the geriatric perspective on: vitamin B12 in the elderly, the role of micronutrients (including thiamin, carotene and vitamin C), nutrition and cognitive function and cardiovascular nutrition.

Unintentional weight loss and malnutrition are common problems in the elderly. Taste and smell changes, as well as feelings of loneliness and depression, contribute to decreased appetite, while many elderly people may eat less because of chewing difficulties, fatigue, and social reasons. If bones decrease in density, then osteoporosis (bone loss) develops over time. Bone degeneration is due not only to calcium deficiency but also partly to genetics. These changes can contribute to decreased food intake, unintentional weight loss and malnutrition. Not everyone experiences all these changes.

Review with your doctor the medications you take on a daily basis that might be causing loss of appetite. Absolutely, consider nutrition supplements, but use them only with a doctor’s approval. She has found that enhancing food flavors will increase the consumption of the foods to which flavors have been added — and the increase in intake is greater for the people who have a greater loss of smell. The loss of calcium through urine could potentially be harmful for bone turnover, with the added risk of osteoporosis. Finally, protein requires vitamin B6 in order to be metabolized and ultimately utilized in the body, which is also slowed down in the elderly.

With all the changes our bodies and minds go through, it’s no wonder we need some high quality liquid vitamin nutrition. Liquid vitamins can energize and help balance your body’s system with daily nutritional supplements!

Cause of Hair Loss in Teens and Adults. There are many causes of hair loss. Both men and women can obtain it. It can be because of nutritional deficiency, hormone imbalance, stress, and diseases. But generally the most common cause of it is called adrogenetic alopecia. It is the medical term for hair loss or baldness. Adrogenetic refers to the influence of androgens (male hormones), and genetic predisposition to balding can be the reason of such a hair loss.Genetic is not that simple, and also the hair loss case. Just the presence of someone in your family of balding is not enough to predict that you will also become bald. It is really hard to predict who will go bald and how fast will it be. That is why planning for hair restoration will be very important for those people who gets alarmed about it. Normal man and women produce androgenic hormones. Dihydrotestosterone, androsteinedione, testosterone (DHT) is the most common. For men Testicles and adrenals are the one to produce it.

For women ovaries and adrenal glands are the one to produce. These hormones are important for both sexes. But have different concentrations, and this is more predominant for males than females. This in part, differentiates the genders. Exposure of hair follicles to DHT, in a susceptible person, in a period of time leads to male and female pattern to baldness or the so-called adrogenetic alopecia. There is no exact age for balding occurrence. Balding is a process, simple yet this fact is often ignored. This process can be slow or rapid. It usually starts at late teens. Illnesses and medical conditions is one of the causes of hair loss. Such as thyroid disease and diabetes, can cause hair loss. Those people with liver and kidney diseases and lupus can also have baldness. Adult women and teen girls can have hair loss due to hormone imbalance in polycystic ovary syndrome.Medications such as acne medicines cause hair loss.

Amphetamines in diet pills can also cause hair loss. And the very known medication that causes hair loss is chemotherapy.Alopecia areata is a skin disease than causes hair loss on the scalp and sometimes on the body. It is an autoimmune disease. The own immune system is the one to damage the hair follicles. Alopecia areata starts as small bald patches and can progress to total baldness.Trichotillomania is a psychological disorder in which a person pulls his/her own hair that can also lead to hair loss. Hair treatments and styling the hair gives tension to scalp and hair becomes damaged and leads to hair loss. Nutrition is also one factor of baldness because of lack of protein, vitamins and minerals that sustains the hair. Disruption of hair cycle growth is also a problem. Like delivering a baby, getting anesthesia, or having surgery

There are different types of hair loss among women. One of the most common kinds of hair loss is called Androgenetic Alopecia, otherwise known as Female Pattern Alopecia. Alopecia, which mean being bald, does not necessarily mean total loss of hair. To be precise, it is simply the receding of the hairline mostly above and in front of your head. Most of those affected are only one third of the prone population, but it is usually happening after menopause.

The pattern for hair loss in women may be noted with excess loss, but what brings women to professionals is the continuous thinning of the hair. It is an average of 100-150 hair strands per day that a person shed and people who already have thin hair have lower number of shedding. There is a pattern on hair loss in women. When the hair is being shed, roots grow shorter hair afterwards. After a while, it appears to be fuzzy. The genetic relations of both parents are also a factor on hair loss.Women should remember that they may start losing hair after they give birth or an unbalanced use of birth control pills. Sudden mood swings and physical stress may also occur. Telogen Effluvium, a kind of hair loss, may only be temporary. Take note that Telogen Effluvium may be delayed for a few months. Usually three.Luckily, there are innovations to help women deal with this kind of problem. There are treatments available to overcome this situation, and it usually starts with a Rogaine. Rogaine is currently the only available FDA approved medication for hair loss on women.

Propecia, another well-known solution, does not work on the female gender at all. There are also follicular units and minigraft methods that transplant doctors use to deliver great results to their female clients. But you have to be qualified for the treatment first. If sometimes the effort is still not enough, you may want to seek professional counseling. There are still a few options such as dyes and other cosmetic selections to enhance the appearance. You may find specialists to help you deal with your hair loss problem

For a complete hair loss treatment for both men and women, i recommend shampoo for hair loss

Constipation: An Overview of its Causes and Symptoms. Constipation is a normal occurrence that has been estimated to occur to every individual in his or her lifetime. It’s been ascertained that as we get older, we have a higher tendency to become more constipated. People above the age forty are particularly susceptible to this because they are at the peak of their lives at that period. Men in this age bracket are often achieving lots of things at this time and hence, there is usually less time for them to eat well, and exercise as they have a bust schedule. Therefore, constipation in this period can be said to be caused by eating disorders or bad eating habits. When we eventually get constipation, how do we treat or get relief from it? Most people are all for the laxative and enema treatments. But feelers that we are getting from health boards all over the world are advocating that as much as possible that we avoid laxatives.

Many people who have become very familiar with laxatives can even swear to its ability to make an individual dependent on it for bowel movement. The very last thing we want is to be subject to a mere chemical. However, to stem the continuous occurrence of constipation in the daily life of an individual, the best thing really is to change the eating habits. This can safely be said to drastically reduce the incidence of constipation as most of the constipation people get is from eating low fiber foods and excess fatty foods. Foods that are rich in fiber such as wheat, bran, psyllium husks work wonders in the relieving and consequent elimination of constipation and its frequent occurrence. The absence of high quantity of fluids –particularly water- is also an important contributor. Because we are always in a rush to achieve things, we then to for get to take at least eight glasses of water everyday.

Hence, the stool ends up not having enough moisture to ease the passage of feces through the colon and rectum.Another contributing factor is the bad habit of holding back when we feel the need to “go”. Many people think because they are busy, it can always come later. Of course, it does come later but during that same period, some of the toxic waste from the stool might have been reabsorbed into the bloodstream. Not to mention the moisture that is also reabsorbed leaving the feces hard and dry. The victims may end up passing this feces, but there is always a tendency that some of the feces will remain in the colon. Hence, there won’t be a total elimination of the waste products. If colon cleansing is not done in due time, then there will be the incidence of toxic poisoning caused by the reabsorption of waste into the bloodstream, contaminating the blood, reducing the immunity of the individual and spreading disease in the body.
Constipation Remedies: 5 Natural Constipation Remedies-Until recently, constipation was not taken into cognizance in the corporate world. Neither was its effects really looked into. However, recent surveys and estimates have shown that constipation is singularly responsible for the loss of over $2billion annually. As a result, it has become in fact very important to address the issue and its treatments. While some of us are very familiar with the use of enemas or laxatives, we are also finding that these have side effects and as a result, should be avoided as much as possible.

For instance, it has been proven than laxatives are not only addictive, they make the individual dependent on them for bowel movements. That’s the reason some people are looking for alternative constipation remedies which do not become addictive and most importantly, not leave chemical residues in the body which can be harmful in the long term.If you have ever had constipation, you’ll agree with me that constipation is not only uncomfortable, it is embarrassing. When an individual is constipating, he is not in any way comfortable at all. Symptoms such as bloated abdomen, gas, headache, et.c accompany the onset of constipation. The causes of constipation are varied. But chief among them are unhealthy eating -non-consumption of high fiber content foods- lack of exercise, minimal fluid intake and changes in both life and environment such as changes in locations or traveling and pregnancy. Other contributing factors are diseases, and colon and rectum troubles.

So what natural constipation remedies are fast action remedies?

1. Boysenberry. The juice of this fruit is capable of functioning as a gentle laxative. It is to be used in the case of mild constipation not chronic ones.

2. Cantaloupe fruit is a very great fruit and is adequate for helping to relieve constipation. Its high fiber content is what actually makes it very useful to those who have constipation. It is also a rich source of both Vitamins A and C and lots of minerals.

3. Flaxseed oil has been proven time and again to be an effective constipation remedy. All you need for maximum results is to take 1-2 tablespoonfuls with lots of water immediately after lunch or dinner.

4. Elderflower is also very effective. All you need is an infusion of it in water as many times as it is needed daily.

5. Epsom Salts is also another good remedy. To use it as a constipation remedy, mix one teaspoonful in half glass of water jut before bed. Please not that it is bitter so the taste does not hit you unawares
